Angel: We did not get any turkey or ham. They got to eat Thanksgiving dinner twice in two different states. And they did not bring us any thing.

Kirby: We did get treats and cuddles.

Angel: Look at the beautiful Christmas header! The ZH at Zoolatry made it for us. Thanks you very much.. We really like it!

Guess where Mom and Dad are

Mom and Dad have deserted us. They went to Shadow, Illyana and Ivan's house. They had their first Thanksgiving dinner this weekend there. They have another one on Friday at Grandmothers house!

Ivan had his snip job on Tuesday. Mom went with his Mom to pick him up. She thought it would be fun to take a picture like the first one they took of him. He was found in the hospital parking lot. He had to travel loose in the car because they did not have a carrier. While they were waiting in the car, he got on the dash.

This is the first picture of him in June.

This two were today

He has grown so much! And his vet says he is not though growing!

We hope every one is having a wonderful Thanksgiving!

It's been a year.

It is hard to believe that my boy has been gone a year! Where has the time gone.

No time to grieve because three Grand Kids have birthdays this week and cooking at two different houses for Thanksgiving.

We hope all our friends have a wonderful Thanks giving day!

We got a package

Mom donated to Marty's surgery fund through Peggy's Place and she sent us a hairy blanket. They are within $200 of their goal to help this kitten.

Mom: Look, you got a package!

Angel: We got another package!

Kirby: Cool! Open it, Dad!

Dad: OK, I'll open it!

Angel: What is it? Look at the cute note! It is a Tuxie!

Kirby: Let me help you get it out!

Angel: It is a purple Hairy Blanket!

Kirby: OH, Yes it is! It is so soft! I can't help making biscuits on it and snuggling in it!

Angel: Is there any thing else in the box?

Kirby: I better check, too!

Mom: I did not catch the original 'kitty in the box' so had to recreate it with treats!

Thank you Peggy! We love it! Kirby really loves it. Angel is cautious around soft blankets. It is like she does not care for the feel or was punished 'in her life before here' .

Saterday woes

Angel: Kirby, you better hide like I am.

Kirby: I am trying! But why?

Angel: Mom has had a rough week. On Wednesday, her little laptop she takes to class lost it's mother.
Kirby: Oh,NO. I hope we don't loose out Mother.
Angel: Not that kind of mother! But it got worse. Mom and Dad could not find a service agreement on that laptop.
Kirby: Is that bad?
Angel: It means they will have to pay for the repairs. That is why Mom was so angry with the phone on Thursday! But it got better, for a while.
Kirby: Is that when we got a new box to play in?

Angel: Yes, Dad got Mom a new laptop so she could blog for us when they travel next week.
Kirby: Then why was mom and Dad so upset yesterday?
Angel: Cause it got worse, again. Mom's big computer that she works at all day, lost it's mother! It is the one that has her sewing designs on it, too.
Kirby: I am getting scared again. What is going to happen?
Angel: They have a service agreement on this one so a repair person will come out and fix it.
Kirby: We are going to have company?
Angel: Chill out brother! Things got still better this afternoon. Some guy named Sams found where Mom and Dad bought a service contract on the little laptop.
Kirby: So what does that mean?
Angel: It means Mom or Dad will have to yell at the telephone again! It also means that two different service guys will have to come out!
Kirby: Yep, I think it is time to hide.

Mom: It has been crazy here in the last four days. Losing one motherboard is bad enough, but two in one week! I was beginning to think I had done something. We did find proof of purchase for a service contract, finally, so can call service tomorrow.

We are hoping tomorrow is the start of a better week!

Thoughtful Thursday

Angel: Is it time for Dad to be home?

Kirby: Nope, to early. It is still light outside.

Angel: That's OK. I am still watching for him.

Kirby: I'm not. I an taking a bath so I will be all clean for him.

Besides, he does not come in the front. You won't see him out that window.

Angel: Boys! They think they know it all. Dad sometimes comes in the front!

Kirby's Easy like Sunday evening

Just hanging our with Mom! And listening to the rain!

Friday, November 13, 2009

It's Friday the 13th!

We don' t know what the big deal is. It is just another Friday to us.

We are watching the leaves fall.

Kirby is in the red chair and Angel in the yellow looks like she is telling him something important

The yard man was suppose to clean to day but the wind was blowing and making more leaves fall so he is coming tomorrow. He cleaned up two large bags full last week and will probably have three or four this time. But the trees are still mostly green and have lots more leaves to go!

Angel: Mom, What is Kirby doing now?

Mom: I don't know let me check. Kirby what is all that noise?

Kirby: Me, mom? I am not doing any thing! I am not trying to get behind the dryer! I was ,um,um,... Chasing a bug. Yeah, that is it! A bug!

Angel and Mom: Yeah, right, nothing!

Mancat Monday

So what was all the fuss yesterday? I am just a sweet mancat kitty!

Not so easy Sunday

Mom: Kirby is a curious (nosy) kitty. He wants to get into every thing. He found a way behind the washer and dryer and broke the dryer exhaust hose. We pulled it out and repaired it. Then this week, he did it again. Even though we thought we had his entry way blocked. The laundry 'room' is the entry from the kitchen to the garage and is only as wide as the two appliances with two doors in it. In other words it is tiny and cramped when you have to wiggle one or the other to work on them.

We started out this morning to repair the the hose. We had indoor/out door carpet in front of the appliances so they would not just slide. They had to be lifted slightly and then slid. Our Son suggester Super Sliders but the carpet was still an issue. So I took it out. How do you get the carpet tape and its sticky residue off the floor? on your knees and with Goof Off spray. Be sure to have all the windows open cause that stuff will get you high!

While we had then pulled out, we decided to swap them. The washer was on the right and the dryer on the left. Their doors opened against each other. That means we had to lift the wet cloths over both doors to get them in the dryer. For me, the short one in the family, that was a problem.

So off to the hardware store to get parts, longer hoses and more super sliders because when they get carpet tape residue on them, they do not slide! We got the cold water hose disconnected, no problem. Disconnected the hot water ans it was not turned off so started gushing hot water all over the house, garage and my husband. Now, both the dryer and washer are blocking access to the garage, so I had to go through the house to another door and around the house and turn off the water at the water heater.

Thank heavens for SHAMWOW! Four big ones and four small ones started soaking up gallons of water.

Kitchen floor

Garage floor

After the mess was cleaned up and the appliances in their new place, this is the only way he could plug in the dryer.

This is the temporary blockage to keep Kirby from going behind again. WE are planning to build a wooden block!

And here is the cute kitty, himself! approving the change! He was locked in one room during the whole process and Angel was in another under the bed to keep them safe. She still had not come out.

We know cute kitty pictures are better than this long blog. But a one hour project turned into a 5 hour project!

Photo hunters - Military and Veterans day

WE were not sure if the Photo hunt was for Military or Veterans day so we labeled it as both.

We borrowed the Ides from our friends at Cats ~ Goats ~ Quotes Thank you!

This was taken in November 1944 of a very tired warrior in Nancy France. He was 20 in this picture and he is our Mom's Dad!

These are the guys that were in the tank with him. Mom's Dad is the one kneeling on the right. The only one still living is the other kneeling man. He calls Mom's Mom every week to check on her. They lived in a Sherman tank together for two years.

Peace

Peace I Ask of Thee O River
(source: "Our Chalet Songbook", Our Chalet Committee, 1981; also found in "Songs for Canadian Girl Guides", Girl Guides of Canada, 1981.)

Peace I ask of thee, O river, peace, peace, peace.
When I learn to live serenely, cares will cease.
From the hills I gather courage, vision of the day to be,
Strength to lead and faith to follow, all are given unto me.
Peace I ask of thee, O river, peace, peace, peace.

On such a wonderful day of Peace, we are very sad over the tragic events at Fort Hood in Texas. We are sending purrs to all those family's affected which include all military family's.

Kirby was not helping by playing with her behind and under the monitor!
