Thankful Thursday

The cold front, well cool front, that came through here on Tuesday had a little wind and it broke a branch in our Oak tree. The branch was rubbing on the roof, so Dad and Mom had to take it down. Oaks tend to protect themselves in years of drought. They produce more acorns in an act of self preservation.

This is a small twig from the limb.

This is a cluster of the acorns. There were many, many of these on the limb that broke!

This is Kirby checking out the leaves!

This is Angel checking them out. Mom could not get a picture of Mac checking out the leaves cause he was headed to the food dish!

We are thankful the branch did not put a hole in the roof or a window. We are also thankful neither Mom or Dad got hurt taking it down!

Mancat Monday

Mac on his window bed.

I scared Mom and Dad this weekend. I got my calming collar part of the way off and got it hung in my mouth like a bridal bit. I cut my lip and was bleeding. I came out from under the bed with red paws. I was a good boy and let Mom and Dad help me and was my paws and face. I have a fat lip but other wise I am doing great! Mom said to tell every one that I did not bleed much.

Hey, Who shut the door and left me out here!

Mac: I don't know, brother. Are you really behind that door?

Kirby: Yes! See, Dad is teasing me with the back scratchey stick!

Nothing much going on

The Grand daughter has been here all week. She has been going to Quilting camp. Today our Mom had to take her to High School and get her all ready to go. Her Mom is out of the state on business. Then they had to go pick up her little brother, the littlest grandson - 4 years old. The Air conditioning went out at their house and it was over 90 inside. It was 105 but felt like 110 outside today.

Other than that, nothing much is going on.

Oh, I almost forgot. Dad lost his job last week. Mom says there are no green papers coming in, now. Dad says not to worry.
