Thoughtful Thursday

Yesterday was San Jacinto Day in Texas. Our Mom always celebrates this day but she did not tell us why!

Happy San Jacinto Day, my fellow Texans! On this day in 1836, General Sam Houston and his Texians (that's how they spelled it back then) defeated General Santa Anna and his troops in a battle that only lasted 18 minutes! Texas earned her freedom that day and we've been a proud "whole other country" ever since!

Here is Angel Thinking about it!

Happy Earth Day!

We were LOL'ed at Wendy's place today! Stop by to see us.

Happy Earth Day and Happy San Jacinto Day! We didn't know about San Jacinto Day - we will have to remember it because our new little sister and brother (or sisters if that ends up being the case) are from Texas! They are there right now actually!

Momma furgotted 'bout San Jacinto Day! (Silly Momma. She taked Texas history in skool) But, she DID know that Tx is the ONLY state that can fly their state flag level with the US flag, since they were their own country.
