Happy New Year!

Happy New Year and wishing you a prosperous, Healthy 2012!

Mom just thinks she is going to quilt tonight.  WE have open windows and fresh air today and yesterday, too!   WE are watching Mom and Dad play in the dirt and leaves!

Mom:  We have two massive red oak trees in the front and they are just now dropping leaves.  We have done around to large paper bags so far and there is twice that still on the ground and some still on the tree!  WE are also taking advantage of the warm day to set out flowers that were dug up for the foundation work.  WE will not get it all done before dark!

Mom has been busy

She finished putting all of out flannel back together! It is not complete because it needs a back and binding, whatever that means.

Mom tried to get Kirby's picture on the quilt, but it did not take.   Can you see the black thing in the corner?  Mom and Dad put all of their cloths in it and zipped it up.  I think they are deserting us!

Mom:  Angel, we will only be gone two nights. You will be OK till we get back! I will post more photos on my quilt blog of the quilt in progress when I return .

Merry Christmas and Secret Paws

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family!

We got our Secret Paws package and Mom would not allow us to open it till today!

Kirby was protecting it till time to open it!

It has our name on it!

What is in there Mom?

They both jumped right in and started pulling goodies out!

There were two cans of Weruva food, On The Cat Wok and Grandma's Chicken Soup!  We have never had this and can't wait for Christmas dinner!  Two bags of treats, Crispies and Natural Purrz.  All of the food except Crispies is grain free!   Mom opened the Purrz and we loved them! There were three BLUE mice.  Angel claimed the biggest one and even swatted Kirby when he wanted to look at it!  And then there was  a FAB Pet Thing!   It is like a boogie mat but is is soft fleece!
Kirby trying to get the mat out of the box.
 Angel checking out the mat
Getting treats

This was the cute card.
Willow was our Secret paws friend.  We have never met her before! She is from Niskayuna NY!  That is a long way from Texas and a lot colder!   It is so nice to meet new friends! Mom told us to say there was a big bag of nip in the package, too!

Thank you Willow.  We will try to find your blog so we can visit you!

Merry Christmas Every one!

Angel, you are fight.  This is soft and snugly!

PLayful Monday

Mom was playing with Angel with MY string!  How could she.  So I, being the big mancat I am, tried to take it away from her!

Dad saw us playing and he snapped a picture from the other room!

I won!

Kirby, that is not nice.  You never let Angel Play!

Yes he does, Mom!  At night after you and Kirby are in bed, I put on a good show for Dad!

Caturday

We are just chilling out today!  Mom is cooking pie and potatoes to take to a party later this afternoon.

We had finished the tile and was moving the small fridge when Kirby decided he needed to inspect it!

I want to thank my friends that left purrs and prayers for Sam and her Mom Dee, here and on their quilt blog.  Sam is holding her own and they are still waiting for test results!

Prayers for a friend

A quilting friend is asking for purrs and prayers for her sweet fur baby Sam.

This is from her blog, Bitten by the Quilting Bug.
For those of you who pray, would you please add my cat Sam to your prayer list?  She had a seizure the other day and is waiting on some test results.  I'm praying everything comes back fine and she never has another one, but would appreciate your prayers as well.

They are not members of the blogosphere but that does not matter when purrs and prayers are needed.

Mancat Mondar reporting on an evil squirrel

Kirby here!  Mom washed the boogie mats and sprayed more nip on them!  I had to pull it off the counter to remind Mom that I wanted it on the floor, since I am not suppose to be on the counter!

We had company on Saturday and had Thanksgiving.  Our Bean Sisfur and her daughter and son came over.    Angel hid out all day!  That is unusual because she loves the granddaughter!  I ventures out a few times but we try to avoid the little bean boy.   He just wants to love us, but we are not use to him!

We had a birthday party for the two kids. Mom said we could not call Chrystal a kid any more cause she is 18, but she is still a senior in high school. .  Jordan is 6. Her birthday was Black Friday and his is today.  Another grandson's  birthday is Wednesday!  With Dads earlier in the month, that is a lot of parties!

OH, I am suppose to tell you about our title.  WE hope the picture does not upset anyone.
Mom brought a baby evil squirrel in the house!  Can you believe it!   They were all talking about it but they would not let me see it!  I did not even get to sniff the box!

The wind was blowing very hard and apparently this little one was blown out of the nest or tree.  It landed on the sidewalk and we did not see it soon enough.  When Mom brought it in, it was very cold and not moving.  When Mom would massage it it would take a few breaths but that was all.  .  Mom tried to get him into the living materials center, but since it was a holiday, she could not find any one to help. Unfortunately, he did not make it, he was probably injured from the fall.

Helping Mom

Angel was helping Mom put up laundry.

Is this where they go, Mom?

OK, I will lay right here till I get treats.

Angel knows there is a feather wand toy in the top drawer.  She dug through the shirts thinking she could get into the next drawer up!

She and Kirby did get treats!

Happy Thanksgiving!   We will not be seeing the turkey at our house today.  He is suppose to make an appearance on Saturday.

Mom is doing better.  She is almost back to normal, what ever that is!

Mom has rocks in her head?

Angel, Did Dad say Mom had rocks in her head?
No, Kirby, Dad said Mom had rocks in her tummy!

Mom here!  You are both wrong.  I had a ginormous kidney stone! I went to the ER on Wednesday around 10 am and they admitted me.  I had a procedure Friday morning to pulverize it so it could pass in fragments.  Was only in pain till they gave me something in the ER and them no more  till I came our of surgery.  I still have a low cramping feeling, but doing great other wise.

Kirby, where are you and what are you bumping?

This is the bottom of the cabinet that Angel was setting on.

You think you are so smart, don't you!  Opening cabinet doors!

 Yes, Mom, I do.

House stuff:  Plumber came Monday but could not fix the pipe.  It was in a concrete beam of the foundation so he will have to reroute the pipe. .  So he planned to comeback on Tuesday.  He lives about 45 miles away and it rained a lot at his house, so he canceled, again.  We had very little rain, again!  He did contact the foundation people and they were to come out on Thursday, while I was in the hospital.  They had equipment failure so had to come back on Friday.   They finished before I was released, so it all worked out.

Now we are again waiting on the plumber and there is more rain in the forecast!

Hopeful Monday

No work was done on the foundation or plumbing last week!  Plumber canceled on Monday due to rain that we did not get.  We can still see the rake marks in the dirt out front.  Plumber said he would be here on Wednesday.  Nope, did not even call to say he would not be here.  We had to call him.  Called foundation people. They had just  heard from the plumber that he had rescheduled for Monday,  They tell us that they were scheduled for Friday.  What?   Did we know that?  Nope, again!  It is a good thing Dad is handling this cause Mom might have used all of the words on the bad list with both contractors!

This cabinet should be full of glasses, but they are all packed till all the work is complete!  Kirby is hiding somewhere but Mom did not find him!

Later today, the plumber should be here.  The weather guys are predicting rain Monday night!

Veterans Day

Mom here: We want to say thank you to all the Veterans that have served so that we can enjoy freedoms.  We know freedom is not free or cheap.

My Dad serves in Paten's Spearhead in a tank with 4 other guys.   They called one 'Old Man' because he was 24.  He took me to a museum and we got to see the inside of a tank.  I can not imagine being  in it with 4 other men much less living in it for a year.  He was at the battle of the Bulge and survived, just.  They lost their tank, but one of the guys pulled him to safety.  Perez called Dad every Christmas eve until Dad passed and then he called Mom, just to remember where they were and how they had saved each others lives that night.

My  Father in law was in the Air Force and did not see combat, but was in the Occupation Army stationed in Germany after the war was over.   My Dad saw the fighting side of war and he saw the recovery side.

My Son is in the Army now.  He has been to Iraq twice during the last 'war'.  He knows a different type of war from his Grandfathers, not better, just different.

WE were lucky that all of ours came home safely.  Many were not so lucky.

Thank you!  Service men and women and support personnel for our freedom!
