They opened the garage door several times to take out wet stuff and to get tools. As some of you may know we have a kitty door into the garage.....
This afternoon the boys commented that they had not seen Kirby all day. That is normal in the heat of the day.
Mom and Dad were taking a break and heard a loud thump. Dad went out the back door and Mom went out the garage. When Mom came back in, Dad announced that he had found the noise.
Kirby went walkabout! He was outside at the feeding station for the outside kitties. He had been on top of the shelter trying or get someones attention through the window, and slipped off between the shelter and the house. He told dad that he was ready to come in and get out of the 102 degree heat! He is filthy from rolling in the dirt and muddy from the soaker hoses! He is laying on the bare cool concrete.

I am so glad you were found! I know how frightened humans get when kitties go on walk about.
Kirby! Our mom says that's enough adventuring for you, while of course we congratulate you. Though in that kind of heat you're definitely better off INDOORS!

Kirby I'm sure this walkabout in such HOTs showed the advantages of just meowing for foods insides in the climate controlled house.
Kirby, it sounds like you mostly enjoyed your walkabout, but it isn't a good idea. It's much better and safer inside in the cool.

The Momma in me is very glad Kirby's walkabout ended safely... But the homeowner in me says a great big Oh-Oh! Remember just months ago when my floor was wet? Wound up ripping out the floor and replacing my air conditioner. Hope it's not as bad as that
That must have been fun, Kirby! My human was in the enclosed patio Thursday, upside down on the inversion chair when she saw me and Binga wandering around - and the door to the back was open! She got out of that thing pretty fast and got us back inside. So no adventures for us. YOU were lucky you got a little time to explore - and clearly you knew when you were done!
Joplin is a master of walkabouts. He can sneak out the front door in a flash. The biped's figured out the easy way to get him back inside is with the laser mouse. That way she doesn't get all acratched up.
Good for you pulling up all that wet carpet. I've been there myself. Feels good to get rid of it!

Oh, it's a good thing you found Kirby before he walked a little too far! He's very smart, though, making noise to get your attention.
