Finally Friday

Dad has the day off! Mom and Dad were going to see Grandmother, but Dad is not feeling well. Mom does not want to take any illness to her 87 year old Mom so they are staying home. We can not have the windows open cause there are wild fires several hundred miles west of us, but the wind is bring the smoke to us. It is not as bad to day as yesterday, but it still makes Mom sneeze and cough.

Mom had one Dutch Iris bloom. She is glad but also sad cause she use to have dozens of these.

She has one Rose blooming. The bush is loaded in bud and we should have more pictures nest week. Mom and Dad wrapped the bush in sheets one night this week so the baby buds would not freeze!

Kirby decided it was time to play. He found this PJ string and came running down the hall with it in his teeth and trailing after him. Mom was disappointed that she did not get a picture of him carrying it!

Sorry to hear that your Dad isn't feeling well...perhaps some feline snuggling is what he needs. I hope those terrible fires get no closer to you than some smoke. The Dutch iris and rose are so pretty! Meowmy used to have a bunch of Dutch irises too and they all disappeared...she says either they're very short-lived perennials or else the mouses (and voles, and squirrels, and chipmunks) ate them all!

Those are sure some pretty flowers. We don't have any flowers out here yet because it's only just started to get warm.

That looks like a fun string to play with. I like strings too. :)

Mom misses her yard in Florida. She had dozens of rose bushes and dozens of orchids and many bulb plants. Something was always blooming. Of course, she does not miss the work!

Happy Easter, Angel and Kirby!
